She is the co-founder of the Stamford Ecuadorian Civic Committee and a board member of the Norwalk-Riobamba Sister Cities organization. Godoy has taught seminars in Hispanic journalism at the University of Guaranda-Ecuador and served as a teaching assistant of the International Meeting of Journalistic Studies at the University of Connecticut. She has 25 years of experience in print journalism, radio, and as a cultural promoter and international manager of emerging Latino artists, and she has held special assignments in Mexico, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Peru, Ecuador, and the U.S. border. A columnist for the Fairfield County Catholic newspaper, she was awarded the National Scholarship for Hispanic Journalism from the Organization of American States (OAS).
